When a student sent me an email about the Grand Sextile planetary alignment on July 29, 2013, I got a message from my spirit guides to participate and to invite others to participate with me. This event has very positive, harmonious and beautiful aspects which we can participate in if we choose. It will be a “stargate,” completely surrounding the planet in a Sacred Geometry configuration. It’s a giant mandala!
A Big Mandala of One’s Own
Being a real novice with astrology, I decided to create my own interpretation of the planetary alignment on paper, with its 9 planets forming 2 triangles and making a 6-pointed star. For the planets I used small “seeds” or circles which I cut out of old watercolor paintings and glued them down on my celestial heaven. That was fun! Besides it didn’t have to be perfect and it was mine! I glued a “Circle of Love” (see the Circle of Love Blog) in the center representing me—my sacred heart.
Nature Mandala
One astrologer suggested to at least put rocks down on a circle, representing the planetary alignment, to create some sort of ceremony around this event. Meditating on that would bring it into your consciousness. Well, when I hear rocks I think of nature and that suggests to me a nature mandala! So my husband and I created a Grand Sextile nature mandala in our garden. We used shells and sea glass we had collected and made it about 3′ across. As the flowers dry we’ll add fresh ones, and maybe some bird seed!
My Call to You
Create a mandala, either nature or otherwise during this planetary event. A small nature mandala is a fun and easy way to do a mandala if you’ve never done one and have always wanted to try. Take a photo of your mandala and send it to me and I will post it on this blog.
